Training Ground is a portion of the show where, you, our devoted BLFS listener, submit your photos to our Big Lens Fast Shutter Flickr Group and we tell you how piss poor your photos are. Basically, we critique your photos, because we believe love is best served with a harsh slap on your tush.
Enjoy the pain. :)

Big Lens Fast Shutter is funded solely from the pockets of Ryu Voelkel and Matt Cohen. If you think the information we give you about sports photography is making you a better sports photographer and as a result a well balanced human being, please show us your appreciation by supporting us on Patreon and send some of your hard earned dollars/euros/Brixton pounds our way. People who donate will be mentioned on our next show unless you want to remain anonymous. Thank you for supporting us and may the force of sports photography be with you, always.
Thank you for another great critique video with lots of good advices and one or two laughs (I especially appreciated what you did to the poor baseball-shot)! Never thought – before I started to follow your podcast – that I would appreciate comments like ”It´s not a great picture, but …” (my first entry) and “It´s kind of ok” (my second shot) so much, but now I do. Keep up the good work!
Jens,
We try to be as funny as we can, but knowing that Matt’s sense of humour is on par with what my parents find funny, it’s always a struggle to bring laughter into the video. But we try to be as entertaining and educational as possible. Keep on sending us the stuff and we will guarantee that your sports photos will improve, but it probably won’t be that funny. :)
Ryu
Yes, I like this format much better. Thanks for all the hard work!
Not a problem. Let us know if there is anything we can do to improve.
