Mutsu fell asleep at McDonald’s right after the match. The man’s gotta sleep sometimes during this tournament.
“7th day of the tournament and I got stuck in the rain. Compare to the stadium in Warsaw, Gdansk stadium doesn’t have a roof to cover the photographers. The space we are allocated + the fact that there are paid customers behind us, we couldn’t use an umbrella. UEFA provided us with a basic poncho, but since it seemed a bit cumbersome, I decided against using it.
After the 1st match, the Spanish team were complaining about how dry the pitch was. I have no idea if that had anything to do with it or if Ireland had not come up with a decent plan, but Spain cruised to a comfortable 4-0 win on a very wet pitch.
Personally, I didn’t do too well after the Torres goal. Had I gotten a good shot of him, it would have given me bit of a relief for the rest of the match. After the final whistle, I dragged my feet towards the central station. The McDonald’s which was supposed to be open until 1AM was still open at 2AM. Normally, I would try to be mindful of what I consume during a tournament of this length, but I end up eating the Euro Burger.
Tomorrow is Czech Republic v Poland. I’m on the waiting list so hopefully lady luck will be with me this time. ”
